Post Wrestling Society X
We all remember it.
For those of you who don't, WSX was presented as a secret society of wrestling that utilized a venue referred to as the WSX Bunker, complete with an artificially worn-out looking ring for its matchups. In matches held within this venue, falls count anywhere was the stipulation. The program also stood out due to its unorthodox approach to pro wrestling; this included frequent use of highly expressive plants, crowd sound effects, electrical sound effects, visual effects, and camera shaking when a wrestler would fall prey to electrical weapons. Along with wrestling, WSX featured musical guests playing at the start of each television broadcast, with some band members joining the broadcast team (consisting of Kris Kloss and Bret Ernst) after the performance.
It was pretty ridiculous looking back in retrospect, but it was a TV show and not a wrestling show. It wasn't treated like a wrestling show at all, actually.
Anyway, what were your thoughts about it? Were you glad it was pulled off the air so quickly, or disappointed like me?

I actually enjoyed wsx a lot. It kinda was a change of pace from, well, every wrestling show ever.
Maybe its my low attention spam ( :smile ) but i liked the fast paced matches, the roster was surprisingly good, the announce team was not that bad (liked a lot the fact that the previous company's the wrestlers where in where mentioned) and that small music act in the beginning was a nice way to start the show.
I was actually always kinda upset watching it because i knew that anytime it would be canceled :(
I do think that ideas "outside of the box" like that one would be amazing for the wrestling business, but I'm pretty sure were gonna get stuck with the same old show and the occasional (awful) reality show about wrestlers no one cares about anymore.

I couldn't get through the second episde, I hated it that much. The wrestlers they had were good, but the matches were rushed, like under 3 minutes. That's partly on MTV for giving them half an hour, but partly on them for trying to cram too much crap into one show. Maybe hold off on the band performances until you can get a bigger timeslot, or cut the number of matches down. I also hated the camera shaking, the blatantly ridiculous special effects like the fireworks with the electrified cage, and the whole secret society thing. How can it be a secret if it's effing televised?

What I did like were the wreslters they had and the fact that it was an alternative. If they had pulled it off right it could have been good, but as it was it was destined to fail. I dunno why they couldn't just get a full hour, all they had on after it was another Bam Margera attempt to stay relevant.

WSX was actually pretty awesome. I found the DVDs on ebay and on there they don't even show the musical performers and they have extended matches. They had an awesome roster: Jack Evans, Teddy Hart, Matt Sydal, Human Tornado, 6-Pac, Vampiro, Ricky Banderas(Judas Messia), even Justin Credible and New Jack made it for one episode. Overall WSX wasn't so bad.

I remember thinking WSX was like the best thing ever when it premiered. I mean for God sake it had Matt Sydal and Teddy "The ****man" Hart, Vampiro (who I remembered fondly from WCW) 6-Pac (At the time I was a HUGE Waltman mark) and That 70s Team. Add that to crazy special effects and match type, and the only question I ask is, "What more could you ask for?"

I only got to see a few episodes, but I thought that it was great. A lot of the undercard gimmicks were pretty cheesey, but it was something different.
